Well.. after many setbacks for the upcoming SCREAM VII .. we finally get some news we all wanted… the SCREAM-Queen we all love is returning finally ( Finally Glad she got an agreement sorted out ) .. and even better.. Kevin Williamson is to return to!! But this time, to Direct!!
News was glady received by fans via Instagram from Neve and Kevin, and then shared vastly among online sites who were loving the good news!

The seventh installment faced multiple setbacks in recent months, including the firing of a star, the departure of another, and the exit of a director.

The addition of Campbell adds new life to the feature, as her character Sidney Prescott has been the the series’ heartbeat since the first installment. In 2022, when announcing talks had broken down over pay, she said in a statement, “As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise.”

Late filmmaker Wes Craven directed the first four Scream features, with the first debuting in 1996 and skewering some of the same horror genre tropes Craven helped introduce during his storied career. The fifth installment in 2022 picked up the baton as the first Scream movie since Craven’s death in 2015 and proved it could thrive for a new generation of viewers.

Im finally glad we have some more hope of a Scream 7 turning out good.. RJ Torbert said a while ago now, that we should keep the faith!  It seems his words rang true.. More so after yesterdays news!

Well… here we go again.. the last time i remember Scream movies having troubles was years ago back in 2010 when Kevin Williamson was meant to be back, then he wasnt.. and many actors had been said to be playing parts, then it changed, for example, When Lauren Graham was originally thought to be playing Sids aunt… Which ended up going to Mary McDonnell… Many rumours floated about back then…
And here we are now.. with two very successful films as of late, and now some of the main cast either being fired or ‘Not available’ or ‘Im busy that day’…
In recent time we have seen Melissa Barrera stand up for her beliefs based around the Israel-Hamas war.. ( You just cant say anything these days can you!? ) …
And that seems to have had a nasty backlash ,… Quote from an article on Variety below…

It seemed to some fans like the planned sequel was collapsing in real time. However, even before Barrera was fired, plans for the next “Scream” were being retooled. Ortega’s exit had required the creative team to make some alterations, according to individuals with knowledge, but there were still hopes that the actress might be convinced to come back for some sort of cameo. That no longer seems to be in the cards. Another source familiar with the franchise disputed this, saying Ortega was never in the mix for the new film.

James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, the writers of the previous two “Scream” installments, will now work on a fresh draft to present to filmmakers. Some set pieces and twists may be preserved, but the movie will need to find new protagonists. Ortega and Barrera signed on for two “Scream” movies and fulfilled those obligations with installments five and six, another source noted. They would have needed new deals for the seventh chapter.

And Jenna Ortega also has scheduling conflicts whilst the filming the second series of ‘Wednesday’ and BeetleJuice 2 have her attention…

One thing fans wondered about for a long time was Sidney and Kincaid, and it seems now that they are being added to the ‘Wishlist’ for part 7… and lets not forget that Courteney Cox as Gale is still in the SCREAM world!! Thank God !

February 4th 2022 : Scream 6 Already Greenlit….

Well, it certainly comes as NO Surprise Whatsoever that a sixth film has just been Greenlit, with the new film SCREAM grossing over 106 Million dollars already it would have been very puzzling if there was no plans for a sequel.. but something tells me that Kevin Williamson may have had his original second Trilogy (Originally in his mind back in 2011 with Scream 4 before he departed the production)… in mind again this time, and despite him not taking up the main writer role, he certainly had MAJOR input ( Take Big Swings ) on the fifth film… so i personally suspect that a 6 & 7 may already be in the minds of the film makers..  The hollywood reporter and many many more websites have already spread the news and its no surprise anymore about a sixth film coming..

Paramount and Spyglass are headed back to Woodsboro. A sixth installment of the Scream franchise has been greenlit, with the creative team from the successful 2022 film back in action.

Once again, Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct, with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick returning to pen the script. Production is slated to begin this summer.

“We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film. We can’t wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie & Guy and Project X have in store for our Woodsboro family,” Spyglass and Paramount said in a joint statement.

Well, here we are.. back at that date.. 4.1.5.11… 10 years to the day that i post this… now of course its, 4.1.5.21…. Fans for years after Scream 3 ALWAYS talked about a fourth film, and always went to Scream and GhostFace forums (before Facebook ruined forums/message boards) and spoke with regards to a new film..

Most the time we saw topics on a film the key elements wanted were always the same names… Wes, Kevin, Neve, David and Courteney, and the score composer, Marco Beltrami… Thankfully we got what we wanted for that little checklist, but the fourth film always had mixed reactions.. Some preferring the extra footage we saw for Marnie and Jennys deaths, and others just nit-picking at the plot for whatever reason…. overall i personally was glad to see GhostFace back in action, and i wasnt giving the film top marks.. although i did enjoy it..  My current rating of films from favourite to least favourite is 2, 1, 4 ,3 …. I find no.1 to be almost unbeatable because of its unforgettable opening, but it was a slow film in regards to how it goes from one day to the next… Where as Scream 2, i found more suspensful, and always wondering what was going to happen next…

For me personally, it was the birth of Scream 4 that led me to get to know many fans over time., Nate Ragon, Meggy Blaine, Richie Suttles, Zach Cook, John Valeri, Zach Bartron, the list goes on…
It was also the project that got RJ Torbert started in Social media, and also the influence of Wes Craven who encouraged RJ to come online to Twitter..

Well, here we are… at the end of a Disaterous year ! … 2020 !!!! BAD for so many reasons… BUT.. We finally got movement somehow on the next SCREAM film!!
And as we see today, confirmed now by the original writer himself.. Kevin Williamson!! Scream 5 wont be the official title!! Its simply SCREAM !!!   A nice nod back to its roots.. and it sort of fits for other reasons too like the fact that the rights to it are now owned by SpyGlass media and also having Paramount Studios take the reins of it also fits to a new title, as the first four films were obviously from Miramax/TWC…

September 10th 2020: Neve Campbell confirmed for Scream 5

Neve CampbellWell, here we are again, with all this news of Scream 5 cast members coming i have personally only been waiting for one main headline!! And im sure many other fans will agree too, ‘Would Neve Return?’ …. We knew she was in talks and was listening to what the film makers wanted to do, and how they loved the films and wanted to respect Wes Craven too.. and now finally, we have our news we wanted… She’s back!!! And now she completes the trio, so again, we have our beloved characters to go into a new story.. My personal wish is that they DON’T kill them, but dont let them off too easy either, if the story has to carry on without them, (if a Scream 6 or 7 was to be possible) then i would always like to know that Dewey, Gale, and Sidney were always still at least alive in the Scream world!

Neve Campbell will reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in Paramount-Spyglass’ relaunch of Scream.

She joins previously announced Scream gang David Arquette and Courteney Cox as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers, and new cast members Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. Production is planned to shoot in Wilmington, North Carolina for a Jan. 14, 2022 theatrical release.

Radio Silence said, “We’re pinching ourselves! It’s hard to express how much the character Sidney Prescott shaped our love of movies and to have the chance to work with Neve is truly a dream come true. It just wouldn’t be a ‘Scream’ movie without Neve and we’re so excited and honored to join her in Woodsboro.”

Campbell said, “After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the ‘Scream’ franchise. I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”

Well, it seems that more and more just lately we are seeing the doorway to more SCREAM talk open further and further… This time we see (or hear) a lot of info from Pre-Scream times and also more recent times from the writer we always wanted to be invovled in our beloived Scream films!! Kevin Wiliamson…
He always seems elusive (or simply busy as hell) in the past, his time in Scream 4 was brief to say the least.. and finally we can now listen to some of his stories via this Shock waves podcast, with Rob Galluzzo, Elric Kane, Rebekah McKendry, and Ryan Turek… Its a damn good listen.. and even mentions the original plans for what was meant to be a second Trilogy back in 2011..

As some may remember, a screenshot off the william morris agency intranet back in 2009 was sent to me and had info saying Williamson had signed a deal for a Scream 4, 5 and 6..  those other two films never came to fruition obviously after things went sour between Kevin and Bob Weinstein..

Hello again, for a while now we have been hearing of a possible reboot of SCREAM, mostly in the way that Blumhouse had an interest, yet nothing ever used to suffice after hearing that info, on social media there would always be a fan that thought he/she was sharing a link to an article that said fan thought nobody had seen, but we all had seen it!! It was now getting to be old news, and the main fact that we lost Wes seemed to make fans say ‘Leave it alone’.. which many agreed with..

Then we come to November 6th 2019..
Bloody-Disgusting add the EXCLUSIVE NEWS that SpyGlass are now resurrecting GhoistFace… (excerpt below)

While Craven had directed all four Scream films before his passing, various filmmakers would get behind the camera for a television series that ran for two seasons on MTV and a third on VH1.

All four films remained canon while the series would create its own mythology. It’s unclear if the next film will continue to be canonized within Craven’s universe or be a remake, but we are hearing that, as of this writing, Williamson is not writing the screenplay.

The fact that at this early stage Kevin Williamson doesn’t seem to have any involvement is a major thing for me personally, and while there were fallout’s between Williamson and Bob Weinstein during SCREAM 4, at least we still had some sort of contribution from Kevin, and apparently Wes was writing bits of the scripts too in between takes!! But at least Scream 4 was completed, albeit a bit stressful!

Then we come to a more recent date.. November 18th.. Rumors start that the original cast are set to return.. something that takes me way back in time to 2008/09 when the very early news articles were starting up about the trios return, and although they did end up doing so ill never forget one of Kevin Willamson’s tweets back then in early stages simply stating ‘She said she wont do it!…’ in relation to Neve Campbell at the time turning it down when first being asked to return…

Below i have another excerpt from Bleedingcool.com… in relation to the trios return again…

A new report states that while nothing is officially decided on (more labeled as rumor mill material) producers of the next Scream movie are actively interested in reviving the franchise with Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette. If true, this could mean that the response from fans has been something Spyglass is very aware of, and could potentially give us more hope for their take on the iconic horror film series.

Despite the fact that this is strictly a rumor, if there’s any substance it would mean we are one step closer to seeing the trio reunite for one more stab at the Scream franchise. What are your thoughts on Scream 5 bringing back our favorite survivors? Are you excited about a chance for more Sidney vs Ghostface?

While i have seen the mentioned articles here at the time of publication i haven’t rushed to publish it here, as its way too early for us fans to start getting just a little bit excited..
Like in 2008/09 it is just early rumors overall here, NOTHING is concrete evidence as of yet regarding the trios return, but IF a fifth film does come our way with original characters then i stand by my overall opinion all along i had regarding Scream 4 in regard to our regular trio!! Which was.. (Put them through hell if necessary, give them fights and scratches and bruises but DONT kill them).
I always said that for Scream 4 if we didn’t have 5 main people then there was no point, those wanted were Wes, Kevin, and the Trio, and thankfully we got it, even if Kevin did depart.. and with another film coming in future i say the same again, just with no Wes, for obvious reason…

Well, this video came online via Meggy Blaine (A long time fan of Scream and GhostFace) on December 18th 2016… via a tweet she posted… it shows a brilliant collection that’s been built up over many years.. some absolutely gorgeous masks there among other things..  Meggy has some jewels’ in her possession here… including early tagged masks and even a Silver Chrome 25 Year Prototype Mask sent to her by RJ Torbert!
