Well, Here we are again… now in 2020!!! In 2011 we had a Tagline saying ‘New Decade New Rules.’… In this case, its more like, New Decade, New GhostFace…
As always Fun World have attended the Halloween Expo Show at New Orleans, an event which happens every year, either in January or February, this time it ran from January 17th-19th.
This is always anticipated by fans who normally get to see online images posted, either by RJ Torbert, or other fans who manage to attend, but it is not a public event, its trade only!
Even so, this opportunity gives the fans a first glance at what is due to come in the following Halloween season, last year we saw the reintroduction of the Fluorescent’s (Green, Pink and Orange) as last seen in the very late 90’s, and we also had Metallics back again, along with the EL GhostFace and also a selection of other masks that included Scary Movie types…
This year however we seem to have much less, The Devil Face has returned (After being discontinued before) and this is due to the masks popularity in the #DeadByDaylight game, and sadly we seem to have lost the Fluorescent’s, AND Metallic’s !!! No sign of them anywhere.
There was another new type though, one that on first glance made fans think it was the 25th Anniversary mask again, but then when you looked closely it was similar, but different, this time with a rainbow reflective finish, which has been named (According to Frank McGovern- Fun World Designer) the ‘Oil Slick’ GhostFace mask… Frank did add some pictures for us all to see, but it looks really bare compared to previous years when seeing the selection as a whole.
Pictures that surfaced are below.. Picture Credit : Frank McGovern
So… its that time of year again, which is basically Fun World’s time to shine and rent the biggest booth at the New Orleans Halloween Party Expo show, most of the time we see RJ Torbert snap various images of the booths construction phases and also pics of many of the ranges whether its GhostFace or something from other licences they may have got… But in the past we have also seen pictures from fans who have been to the show, last year Louise from the MadaboutHorror website attended, and a year or so previous a brother of a known GhostFace collector (Alex Jones) was sent images to share of what i believe was Devil Faces first appearance there too… This time, we see Alex’s brother is there again and he has snapped some pictures for us all to see, so full credit to him for sharing…
What remains a mystery this year though is the fact that the Devil Face, Skele Face and the Hard White PU Ghostface masks are missing?!? On one of the pictures we see a hard white PU GhostFace mask but it has the ‘Bib Style’ material on it, thus confirming its still used in costume packages… but none of the plastic assortment are seen here as the normal shrouded masks.. So have they been discontinued??
One other mask that DOES appear in the pictures is the EU Stamp mask, although no fans ( That i know of ) found it last year it is still seen at the show.. so WHERE do we find it as fans for sale this year?? Hopefully we may find some eventually..
The last piece of news here is from RJ Torbert, i spoke to him twice recently on the phone and he confirmed that the Metallic Masks WILL BE part of the normal mask lines from now on, so ALL retailers can order these again and they are no longer an EXCLUSIVE type… so USA fans may be able to find these again this year in many retail stores… Images below, Thanks to RJ for the new Metallics picture, and Thanks to Alex Jones and his brother for sharing the expo show pictures…
Hello again… Time goes so quick it seems.. it doesn’t feel like it will be 7 years in April since Scream 4 was released, but it will be. And it also doesn’t feel like 11 years (well, just over) since i started this site.. And every year i put up a summary of the year gone by, and what we have to look forward to in the new year..
2017
In very early 2017 we got the same as we always do get from Fun World/ RJ Torbert, which is normally (depending on show dates) in January in New Orleans, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Fun World always get the biggest booth there and we always see pictures from RJ showing different stages of the booth being built up and then the products being added.. in last years post there were pictures as always yet not a lot of people (including myself) noticed a Devil Face mask sitting to the side of an illuminated Fun World Logo panel.. soon enough another fan who was there ‘Sam Jones’ got some pictures and confirmed what was displayed in the Fun World booth for GhostFace items..(Skele-Face, Devil Face), also including the EU Stamped GhostFace mask which is sadly rarer to find now.. See LINK HERE for original post.
February 2017
A little later in February we saw more images via Fun worlds website showing the NEW Skele-Face and Devil Face costumes, but at this time we didn’t all know if a White ‘Hard PU Plastic’ GhostFace existed…
We also saw in pictures via MadAboutHorror website, (who attended a Palmers Agencies show in the uk) that a Red Shroud Devil Face mask had been made, yet this was just a couple of Producton samples that Fun World had made, and they only released the normal Black Shroud type for retail.
A little later in February details were released about an accident RJ and his wife had been involved in back in late 2013.. and also he revealed to us something that would be included in his third novel, which was an ‘event’ that actually happened to Wes Craven, Wes had shared the story with RJ and told him to maybe use it for his next book, Details are still unknown in full to the fans, but RJ believes that this is a last gift to fans from Wes, hence why Wes had shared the info..
May 2017
In this month we got some news that Aaron Crawford who owns the company ‘Cavity Colors‘ were releasing a new set of Enamel GhostFace pins, the final product was very nice and came in a box set of 5 pins, one that glowed in the dark, a STAB green mask with a ‘Stabbing action’ and 3 other types, which were the Bleeding mask, the Silver Chrome 25th Anniversary mask, and the ‘Whassup’ mask type from Scary Movie.. Only 500 box sets were made!
July 2017
In this month i finally got a short video made showing fans how they could get scuffs and black marks from GhostFace Ultra White masks..
August, September, October, and into 2018..
As soon as August got underway we had masks already going out for sale in the USA, this started off with fans (who were lucky in some cases, as many dont have a Savers or Value Village close-by) finding Metallic GhostFace masks, the same colours as last year, Green, Purple and Blue, but, the Green had changed its tone, now we had a much brighter, almost STAB-Like Green to find, as the Green in previous years had been quite dark and almost looks Black in some lights..
So after fans had been out and about looking for Metallics some had also then started to come across the NEW Devil Face and Skele-Face types, as well as the Hard PU Plastic White GhostFace masks, but again not every fan found it easy to locate some types, in the USA fans struggled to find a Devil Face at all, and it seemed that the UK finally had an advantage for once! Palmers Agencies had ordered Devil Face and gave me a small list of Shops and Websites who had ordered them, in the early stages Websites would sell out overnight and fans would be happy at having all 3 new Plastic masks in their collections.. but with these new masks types being ordered as a selection it lowered the amount of types in each box, most retailers had only order 1 or 2 boxes, which consisted of 2 x Devil Face, 2 x Skele-Face, and 8 x GhostFace, which automatically made the numbers lower on retailers stock of the Devil and Skele Face… After many phone calls and talking again to Palmers Agencies i managed to find more Devil Face masks, (Which seemed to become the most sought after) and i bought as many as i could find, with the intention of letting USA fans buy them from me at uk Retail cost, with ‘Tracked and Signed’ postage added on, many fans took advantage of this and ended up with a Devil Face being added to their collections.. something i had never done on my site before..
Also during the time of Halloween approaching many rare masks seemed to pop up on ebay, including a Pink Fantastic, a Pink FEARSOME! , and many White Fantastics and Fearsomes, also a Production Mask with LOA popped up and was relisted a couple of times, but eventually found a new home…
Later into October we got news of two other things happening, one was the fact that the GhostFace mask WOULD BE returning in Series 3 of the TV Series, which wrapped filming on November 11th…
MTV also put a website online in which fans could share pictures of themselves as GhostFace! SEE HERE!
Also, we had another addition to Cavity Colors Range, in the form of a single Enamel pin, GhostFace carver, in which we see GhostFace doing just tat on a pumpkin! (See recent news)
I also did a couple more ‘firsts’ last Halloween, in the form of Video reviews, one talking about the Latex EU stamped masks and why they are becoming rarer, also the Devil Face and PU Plastic GhostFace get reviewed, and another video covers the Skele-Face mask (as i had not got one at the time of the first video reviews) and also mentions Frank McGovern who was behind the Designs of the GhostFace Zombie, GhostFace Scarecrow, and the Devil Face, and of course, the Skele-Face! See Recent news posts for those!
2018
Well, as far as the site goes, there will be more to come here, it was at the end of November last year in which we reached the 11 year anniversary, and ever since early June 2016 this site has been powered by WordPress, which makes it a lot easier to update and customise, i also noticed it shows a lot more in search results too..
With the expo show coming up again very soon (January 12-15) in New Orleans we should hopefully get a small preview of what may be added to the GhostFace range again, i hope! If anything!
I HAVE been told that the Devil Face and Skele-Face and also the white ‘Hard PU Plastic’ GhostFace will be returning this year, and i have also heard a whisper that Palmers Agencies ‘may’ be getting some Metallic’s this year! Which will be a first’ in a long time! Last time i knew of Metallic’s being for sale in the UK was around 2003!! Time will tell though!
For now though, Dont do Drugs, Dont Have Sex, and Dont ever say ‘You’ll be right back’!
Keep an eye out for the expo show pictures coming very soon… and if you are going to the event then PLEASE get some pictures of GhostFace for us!
Well… after looking through Fun World’s catalog section on their site i see what it is coming out this year in full (so to speak)… Not only do we get the Masks of the NEW Devil Face and Skele Face, but of course there will be Costume versions too! It also looks like retailers will be able to order a mask box selection, which contain GhostFace masks, Devil Face masks, and the Skele Face mask too… also there in the ‘Accessories’ section are pumpkin carving kits.. Read about more by visiting the Fun World site, Click the banner above!
Well, Its that time of year again.. January, which means for Fun World that its a busy time, in part due to the Halloween Party Expo Show which they have attended for a long time, and every time they go they have the biggest booth! RJ Torbert always takes a few pictures and shares them as the show progresses… some are below.. Whilst GhostFace does appear it wasn’t until someone posted on a Scream & GhostFace collectors group that i saw some different GhostFace merchandise, as well as a couple of other related ‘FACE’ named items… ‘Skele-Face’ and ‘Devil Face’… (Although the Red ‘Devil Face’ GhostFace Mask IS in one of RJ’s Pictures) Fan ‘Alex Jones’ posted a picture up that his brother had sent to him who was attending the event.. We see a Red Devil GhostFace, and the Skele-Face.. Pictured below…
