Well, Here we are again… now in 2020!!! In 2011 we had a Tagline saying ‘New Decade New Rules.’… In this case, its more like, New Decade, New GhostFace…
As always Fun World have attended the Halloween Expo Show at New Orleans, an event which happens every year, either in January or February, this time it ran from January 17th-19th.
This is always anticipated by fans who normally get to see online images posted, either by RJ Torbert, or other fans who manage to attend, but it is not a public event, its trade only!
Even so, this opportunity gives the fans a first glance at what is due to come in the following Halloween season, last year we saw the reintroduction of the Fluorescent’s (Green, Pink and Orange) as last seen in the very late 90’s, and we also had Metallics back again, along with the EL GhostFace and also a selection of other masks that included Scary Movie types…
This year however we seem to have much less, The Devil Face has returned (After being discontinued before) and this is due to the masks popularity in the #DeadByDaylight game, and sadly we seem to have lost the Fluorescent’s, AND Metallic’s !!! No sign of them anywhere.
There was another new type though, one that on first glance made fans think it was the 25th Anniversary mask again, but then when you looked closely it was similar, but different, this time with a rainbow reflective finish, which has been named (According to Frank McGovern- Fun World Designer) the ‘Oil Slick’ GhostFace mask… Frank did add some pictures for us all to see, but it looks really bare compared to previous years when seeing the selection as a whole.
Another fan (Dave) DID manage to get another pic of another type of mask too… It seems that the Dead By Daylight versions MAY be coming too, although we only saw one coloured type in a picture taken, and anyone that knows the game, AND GhostFace outfits and mask variants WILL KNOW there are various colours of GhostFace mask shrouds when playing..
The one thing that fans have instantly hated is the fact that the Dead By Daylight Mask is a Hard PU Plastic mask, just the same as the 25th anniversary mask, and the more recent Hard PU Mask selection thats ran since 2017… Many many fans want the Classic EU Stamp back… and im sure that a DeadByDaylight version would be much nicer with that mask inside rather than the Solid plastic type.. But the last time we saw the EU Stamped mask was 2017, and it looks like we may not be seeing more, since the Ultra White mold seems to have fully taken over now… which isn’t good at all.
Pictures that surfaced are below.. Picture Credit : Frank McGovern and Dave Douglas.
So… its that time of year again, which is basically Fun World’s time to shine and rent the biggest booth at the New Orleans Halloween Party Expo show, most of the time we see RJ Torbert snap various images of the booths construction phases and also pics of many of the ranges whether its GhostFace or something from other licences they may have got… But in the past we have also seen pictures from fans who have been to the show, last year Louise from the MadaboutHorror website attended, and a year or so previous a brother of a known GhostFace collector (Alex Jones) was sent images to share of what i believe was Devil Faces first appearance there too… This time, we see Alex’s brother is there again and he has snapped some pictures for us all to see, so full credit to him for sharing…
What remains a mystery this year though is the fact that the Devil Face, Skele Face and the Hard White PU Ghostface masks are missing?!? On one of the pictures we see a hard white PU GhostFace mask but it has the ‘Bib Style’ material on it, thus confirming its still used in costume packages… but none of the plastic assortment are seen here as the normal shrouded masks.. So have they been discontinued??
One other mask that DOES appear in the pictures is the EU Stamp mask, although no fans ( That i know of ) found it last year it is still seen at the show.. so WHERE do we find it as fans for sale this year?? Hopefully we may find some eventually..
The last piece of news here is from RJ Torbert, i spoke to him twice recently on the phone and he confirmed that the Metallic Masks WILL BE part of the normal mask lines from now on, so ALL retailers can order these again and they are no longer an EXCLUSIVE type… so USA fans may be able to find these again this year in many retail stores… Images below, Thanks to RJ for the new Metallics picture, and Thanks to Alex Jones and his brother for sharing the expo show pictures…
Well, here we are again.. already its halfway through 2018! And although we GhostFace fans always look forward to Halloween we do have some items that come out earlier with regards to new merchandise, although this time there is good and bad news!
Cavity Colors has been producing GhostFace enamel pins under license for a while now, we had the box set of 5 pins to start us off, followed by a Halloween themed ‘GhostFace Carver’ pin months later, and now, well we had 2 pins released! This is where we get the good and bad news…
The good news! Well, the new pin DOES come in the standard White mask form! And they are still for sale as i type this out! Click the banner above and head to the Cavity Colors site to purchase one or two!
The BAD news… in making this latest pin variant it was decided that a RED ‘Blood Variant’ pin would also be made! BUT… it was limited to ONLY 50 PINS!
AND THEY SOLD OUT LITERALLY WITHIN SECONDS! AND SADLY THERE WILL BE NO MORE!
Well, we have a rare sight here tonight, this popped up via Facebook and straight away i had to watch it and see what it was all about!
Over the years i have had brief contact with Superfan Nate Ragon, but if i message him he responds, and vice versa, He has also provided info for this site in the past on the FAQ page and by providing pictures and info in regards to Screen used mask types.. Needless to say, Nate is well known among SCREAM and GhostFace fans as he has had the honor of owning some damn good AND RARE props from the movies, including the KNB mask types, and many Fun World GhostFace masks as used on screen, and to my knowledge he was one of the first fans to probably get his hands on things that arent as easy to come by nowadays, as the collecting hobby has grown by massive amounts in recent years… Nate also was featured in the 2011 Documentary ‘Still Screaming’ by Anthony Masi, We saw him show off many items including the KNB mask (Which he no longer owns) but he still has many cool things from the films like the Screen used costume from Scream 3 from when Roman gets shot by Dewey, and he even has Romans award which loses its head in the STAB 3 Studio scene just before Jenny McCarthy’s character meets GhostFace!
The video below is from March 30th 2018, so its very recent at the time of posting this… Enjoy!
Also below is the first time Nate talked to Chiller chat, all the way back in 2011 !
Hello again… Time goes so quick it seems.. it doesn’t feel like it will be 7 years in April since Scream 4 was released, but it will be. And it also doesn’t feel like 11 years (well, just over) since i started this site.. And every year i put up a summary of the year gone by, and what we have to look forward to in the new year..
In very early 2017 we got the same as we always do get from Fun World/ RJ Torbert, which is normally (depending on show dates) in January in New Orleans, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Fun World always get the biggest booth there and we always see pictures from RJ showing different stages of the booth being built up and then the products being added.. in last years post there were pictures as always yet not a lot of people (including myself) noticed a Devil Face mask sitting to the side of an illuminated Fun World Logo panel.. soon enough another fan who was there ‘Sam Jones’ got some pictures and confirmed what was displayed in the Fun World booth for GhostFace items..(Skele-Face, Devil Face), also including the EU Stamped GhostFace mask which is sadly rarer to find now.. See LINK HERE for original post.
A little later in February we saw more images via Fun worlds website showing the NEW Skele-Face and Devil Face costumes, but at this time we didn’t all know if a White ‘Hard PU Plastic’ GhostFace existed…
We also saw in pictures via MadAboutHorror website, (who attended a Palmers Agencies show in the uk) that a Red Shroud Devil Face mask had been made, yet this was just a couple of Producton samples that Fun World had made, and they only released the normal Black Shroud type for retail.
A little later in February details were released about an accident RJ and his wife had been involved in back in late 2013.. and also he revealed to us something that would be included in his third novel, which was an ‘event’ that actually happened to Wes Craven, Wes had shared the story with RJ and told him to maybe use it for his next book, Details are still unknown in full to the fans, but RJ believes that this is a last gift to fans from Wes, hence why Wes had shared the info..
In this month we got some news that Aaron Crawford who owns the company ‘Cavity Colors‘ were releasing a new set of Enamel GhostFace pins, the final product was very nice and came in a box set of 5 pins, one that glowed in the dark, a STAB green mask with a ‘Stabbing action’ and 3 other types, which were the Bleeding mask, the Silver Chrome 25th Anniversary mask, and the ‘Whassup’ mask type from Scary Movie.. Only 500 box sets were made!
In this month i finally got a short video made showing fans how they could get scuffs and black marks from GhostFace Ultra White masks..
August, September, October, and into 2018..
As soon as August got underway we had masks already going out for sale in the USA, this started off with fans (who were lucky in some cases, as many dont have a Savers or Value Village close-by) finding Metallic GhostFace masks, the same colours as last year, Green, Purple and Blue, but, the Green had changed its tone, now we had a much brighter, almost STAB-Like Green to find, as the Green in previous years had been quite dark and almost looks Black in some lights..
So after fans had been out and about looking for Metallics some had also then started to come across the NEW Devil Face and Skele-Face types, as well as the Hard PU Plastic White GhostFace masks, but again not every fan found it easy to locate some types, in the USA fans struggled to find a Devil Face at all, and it seemed that the UK finally had an advantage for once! Palmers Agencies had ordered Devil Face and gave me a small list of Shops and Websites who had ordered them, in the early stages Websites would sell out overnight and fans would be happy at having all 3 new Plastic masks in their collections.. but with these new masks types being ordered as a selection it lowered the amount of types in each box, most retailers had only order 1 or 2 boxes, which consisted of 2 x Devil Face, 2 x Skele-Face, and 8 x GhostFace, which automatically made the numbers lower on retailers stock of the Devil and Skele Face… After many phone calls and talking again to Palmers Agencies i managed to find more Devil Face masks, (Which seemed to become the most sought after) and i bought as many as i could find, with the intention of letting USA fans buy them from me at uk Retail cost, with ‘Tracked and Signed’ postage added on, many fans took advantage of this and ended up with a Devil Face being added to their collections.. something i had never done on my site before..
Also during the time of Halloween approaching many rare masks seemed to pop up on ebay, including a Pink Fantastic, a Pink FEARSOME! , and many White Fantastics and Fearsomes, also a Production Mask with LOA popped up and was relisted a couple of times, but eventually found a new home…
Later into October we got news of two other things happening, one was the fact that the GhostFace mask WOULD BE returning in Series 3 of the TV Series, which wrapped filming on November 11th…
MTV also put a website online in which fans could share pictures of themselves as GhostFace! SEE HERE!
Also, we had another addition to Cavity Colors Range, in the form of a single Enamel pin, GhostFace carver, in which we see GhostFace doing just tat on a pumpkin! (See recent news)
I also did a couple more ‘firsts’ last Halloween, in the form of Video reviews, one talking about the Latex EU stamped masks and why they are becoming rarer, also the Devil Face and PU Plastic GhostFace get reviewed, and another video covers the Skele-Face mask (as i had not got one at the time of the first video reviews) and also mentions Frank McGovern who was behind the Designs of the GhostFace Zombie, GhostFace Scarecrow, and the Devil Face, and of course, the Skele-Face! See Recent news posts for those!
Well, as far as the site goes, there will be more to come here, it was at the end of November last year in which we reached the 11 year anniversary, and ever since early June 2016 this site has been powered by WordPress, which makes it a lot easier to update and customise, i also noticed it shows a lot more in search results too..
With the expo show coming up again very soon (January 12-15) in New Orleans we should hopefully get a small preview of what may be added to the GhostFace range again, i hope! If anything!
I HAVE been told that the Devil Face and Skele-Face and also the white ‘Hard PU Plastic’ GhostFace will be returning this year, and i have also heard a whisper that Palmers Agencies ‘may’ be getting some Metallic’s this year! Which will be a first’ in a long time! Last time i knew of Metallic’s being for sale in the UK was around 2003!! Time will tell though!
For now though, Dont do Drugs, Dont Have Sex, and Dont ever say ‘You’ll be right back’!
Keep an eye out for the expo show pictures coming very soon… and if you are going to the event then PLEASE get some pictures of GhostFace for us!
Hello, with Halloween approaching fast everyone has been seeking out new mask types, and whilst many may now have the new types (Devil Face, Skele-Face) we also now have an additional type to add on Cavity Colors selection of GhostFace items, it was all the way back in May that they had released the limited edition box sets of GhostFace enamel pins.. This time however, we have a new Halloween edition pin, simply called a GhostFace Carver!, It also Glows in the dark too! See images below.. and Click banner above for their website page where its sold! (At time of posting this is PRE ORDER)
Hello again… Here today we just have a new video showing the Devil Face mask and also a White GhostFace mask off the same mask mold.. Basically we see the New Devil Face and White PU Plastic masks are off the same molds as the 25th Silver Chrome Anniversary Masks… also talked about is the EU Stamp Mask, as its getting harder and harder to find now… I will let the video do the rest… see below..
Skele-Face Review… on receiving the new Skele-Face i decided to review that too… See below……
Well… here we are again, Right before the Halloween season gets ‘briefly’ started (In the USA), as for the UK, well its not until at least the end of September that we see Halloween related items over here on display!
Anyway, the main title of this news post was about Devil Face and Skele-Face masks, so, what’s the latest on the Devil Face? or Skele-Face? …
Well anyone who follows my Twitter ‘may’ have seen that i tweeted RJ Torbert about this in late July! I basically asked what was going on with those mask types? Would we be seeing them? and would we see them just this year or again in the future… RJ simply responded saying that they were NOT moving forward with them… the mask type i specifically asked about was Devil Face, but did that mean the Skele-Face was the same?? … I awaited an answer through an email to RJ.. but nothing came straight back… I think he was teasing us, as he likes to with other GhostFace related news in the past and even now still with the cryptic tweets he continues to put up!
Then RJ (in his true style) sent me the below text! TODAY!!!
AND A NUMBER OF INDEPENDENT SPECIALTY STORES ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
WILL BE SOLD SEPARATELY AND AS PART OF THE GHOST FACE DELUXE ASSORTMENT
My response to this was good, but the BURNING Question that WOULD come from other fans as well as myself was….
Will the UK STILL GET SOME??? RJ’s answer was… As of now, PALMER AGENCIES will get some, to distribute. They are on twitter.
So, needless to say i have left a message with ‘Palmers Agencies’ to see if we can find out who is going to be getting those masks, as soon as i have a response i will update this post!
THANKS TO RJ TORBERT for giving me this update and letting me be the first to spread the news, many fans saw the tweet (pictured) and was disappointed, and even wondered if Skele-Face was going to be cancelled too… but now you know the latest! They ARE coming!
UPDATE: August 21st 2017: UK Stores that HAVE ORDERED THE SELECTION!!!
UPDATE: October 1st 2017: Most Sites now out of Devil Face, See Below…
BEAR IN MIND THAT THE BOXED SELECTION CONTAINS….
8 X GHOST FACE MASKS
2 X DEVIL FACE MASKS
2 X SKELE FACE MASKS
So you may have to be quick…. Known stores below… CLICK NAMES to go to their websites!
METALLICS! Last night another huge fan of GhostFace (‘Stillscreaminginmichigan’, Tim), decided to head out to his local Savers store and see what was about, he came across, Ultra Whites and NEW METALLICS, just the same as last year, but this time, the Green mask has had a colour change! , Well its shade anyway, now sporting a lovely bright almost STAB-Like GREEN!!!
When asking RJ about the Green Metallic he simply said, ‘Yes, We wanted it brighter‘….
Well, here we are again. this time closer to the awaited date… Yes, the GhostFace Enamel pins are close.. May the 18th is the official day you can order your box set. Types include, a Bleeding mask, a STAB – Motion green mask, a glow mask, and a Silver chrome mask, and a GhostFace spoof’ mask as seen in Scary Movie… So many variants there…
During the last couple of months i have had more contact and also contact with a chap called Aaron, Who’s Aaron? … Well he is the man that runs the Cavity Colors website, and recently he has personally worked with RJ Torbert, i was put in touch with him by RJ and then it went from there.. i interviewed him in relation to these new pins, and what was said after that is below… Enjoy!
WHAT prompted you to do the GHOST FACE item ?
GHOST FACE is a cultural icon, not only in horror, but in the world of pop culture in general. Besides the fame attached to it because it’s adorned by the killers in the SCREAM franchise, it’s one of the most haunting Halloween masks to exist, and it strikes a nostalgic chord with myself and many many others. I remember trick or treating as a kid in the 90’s, and seeing so many people running around in full GHOST FACE attire. Hell, I even did it one year. It just brings back memories.
How has it been working with FUN WORLD, and I assume you worked with R.J. how was that experience?
It’s been great! R.J. is very responsive and open to our concepts. We understand how iconic the image of GHOST FACE is, so we wanted to make sure we captured that in our pin designs. We wanted to create very straight-forward, classy pin designs that could be worn by practically anyone who loves the Icon of Halloween® :
How close did you work with him ?
He handles all things GHOST FACE, so he’s been involved every step of the way. We didn’t have to make too many changes along the way, just some minor things. I think those suggestions made them look even better in the long run, so we’re pretty damn happy with all the pins and the packaging.
The “COLLECTORS BOX” contains 5 pins attached to a backing card, and placed inside a high quality jewelry box with the GHOST FACE logo printed in Metallic on top. You’ll only be able to own the exclusive Slider Stab pin, the Metallic Metal pin, and the infamous SPOOF face by purchasing the collectors box. Our plan is to also release other color variants outside of the box later in this summer, and into the Fall.
What are your goals with this and where do you plan on selling these?
We went into this hoping to create the ultimate collectible enamel pins for GHOST FACE fans and pin collectors alike, while also keep them classy and clean enough to wear on a dinner date, or a horror convention 🙂
We wanted them to appeal to everyone, not just horror fans. GHOST FACE is so universal, so we didn’t want it to feel too much like another horror pin. We think fans of the mask and collectors will dig em!
Where are they being made?
Our manufacturing details are top secret. Mostly outerspace.
Do you have any images to share? (Can GhostFace.co.uk have the honor of showing them first? , as long as RJ says its ok)
I’d like to keep the actual images under wraps until a little bit closer to the release date, which is most likely end of April / early May. We can hit it full force with promotion around that time.
How did you get started in this business?
Back in the early 2000’s, during the hayday of Myspace, I was designing merchandise for a lot of bands in the heavy metal / hardcore genre, and just eventually got burnt out designing stuff for other people, and chasing down payments for the same recycled T-shirt design ideas over and over again. I decided to create my own shirt designs and sell them to friends locally and online. From there, it kinda of grew from making 20 shirts, to 50 shirts, to now hundreds. We have customers from all over the world. Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, etc. It’s pretty insane. Within the past 2 years, we’ve expanded into acquiring licenses to create official merchandise for some of our favorite films, such as EVIL DEAD 2, THE FOG, RE-ANIMATOR, NIGHTBREED, and more. We’re also creating official products for icons like ROB ZOMBIE, and even a line of products for ELVIRA. Lot’s of big stuff on the horizon!
We’ve been a full time, family owned brand since 2012.
Any other future projects?
We’re already in talks with R.J. about doing some other official, never before seen GHOST FACE items. Fingers crossed! I think they’ll be awesome!
Well, there we go, from the man himself, Aaron Crawford.. of Cavity Colors… Fans can head over to their site by clicking the Small banner above or the larger image below.
