Scream 7 – The cast list just keeps growing.. with ‘Dead Characters’….

Well, here we go again… Life changes’ and a new job slow me down on here because of a new routine, but one thing that is definitely NOT slowing down is the ever growing list of cast for Scream 7!
Ever since Scream 7 has been confirmed its had no end of people come and go… over the last couple of months we have wanted certain news like Patrick Dempsey’s confirmation on returning, but then only recently got an explanation as to why he couldnt do it.. Simply down to Scheduling and the L.A Fires which literally took out anything in its path.. In what sounds like one of his first times ‘out’ whilst talking to Variety he confirms info that us fans wanted… which was to know what happened with him not returning despite his interest to return to Scream.. which would have been the first appearance since Scream 3 in 2000.. (Obviously) See HERE for him talking to Variety..

Other news that kept coming regarding ‘Dead’ characters was of Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley coming back for the film… Whilst over the years many many ‘Stu Theories’ have circulated, including the original draft of Kevin Williamsons Scream 3 that Stu was a masterminding killers actions from prison we have not seen stu on Screen (only in flashbacks and some audio in the end of Scream 3)  .. so to have him in this film only leaves me to believe that theres some sort of past references/scenes being acted out, (look at Billy in Scream 5 and 6, theres nothing a bit of CGI cant do to de-age a character… but as of now, we officially dont fully know Matthews full story of Stu and in what capacity he will come back… ( PLEASE dont say he survived, that would be ruining it too much)
And as for another character who we still know very little about for this film.. Roman Bridger.. of course, he was originally meant to be partnered with Billy and Stu and gave the motivation for the killings in Scream 1, and later in Hollywood was ‘Originally’ meant to be partnered with Angelina, but of course with Scream 3’s troubles there were many changes done, but Scott Foley himself DID confirm he’s been speaking to Kevin Williamson recently and we have a clip from YouTube via ‘LiveKellyandMark‘ of Scott confirming this… also below..

Continuing on… We also had more news in casting.. with Patricks absence, we now know that  Joel Mchale with play ‘Mark Evans’ … (Not Kincaid?) confusing…
Deadline had a report over there which is brief but confirmed news… (over a month ago now, Apologies)… Text below from DEADLINE..

Currently starring in and exec producing Fox’s hit comedy Animal Control, which returned for its third season earlier this month, McHale has found another meaty role of late in Chef David, the abusive former boss of Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy, on FX’s The Bear. Set to guest star in the third season of Yellowjackets, premiering February 14, he’ll also soon be seen reprising his role as Jeff Winger from the cult hit comedy Community in Community: The Movie, which he’ll exec produce.

More news which is a surprise but not expected is also a recent EXCLUSIVE from ‘Deadline‘ again…. DEWEY!! David Arquette is returning for the film… As we ALWAYS know the main Scream 7 plot will remain under wraps until people see the completed film next year, but as we know, Dewey was taken oput by Amber ( Still BS to this day as to how she could have done that ) and its the reason i still and will ALWAYS hate Scream 5… What they did to an iconic character who Wes himself would always have return in the films, (although he did take a beating beforehand ) was unforgivable to me… it was NO LOVE LETTER in thta sense with wjaty happened to Dewey, and ill argue that all day long…  But Dewey never did get over his sister Tatum being killed, and his troubles with Gale were classic to us fans too.. the ‘Rants’ between Gale and Dewey made it more real and gave us all a deeper connection to the couple in the films, on Screen,  (and off Screen for others) ….

On top of all this the cast list continues to grow, another confirmed star to join is Ethan Embry ( more known to myself for ‘Cant hardly wait’ and Empire Records, and of course, ANOTHER Rusty Griswold from Vegas Vacation’, and also another film i enjoyed, ‘Disturbing Behaviour’ ..  )  Again, details unknown as to how he fits the story and to who he will play but i will be watching with interest to see how he fits into it all..

Aside from that Jasmin Savoy Brown rejoins Mason Gooding for the film.. reprising her Mindy Meeks Martin character of course…
GhostFace was spotted on set too… We cant forget him can we?!?!  or them, or her??? !  ‘CRAVEN something Scary’ got some set images including some of GhostFace, (even though from a distance away)…
See video below… ( NO SPOILERS, as such, so dont worry )

Thats the news for now.. a LIVE stream will be going on soon, so check back on here on X, or Facebook for more soon..

October 11th 2021 : NEW EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK AT SCREAM 2022 from Entertainment Weekly!

Well, here we go again…. after seeing the first teaser poster i did wonder what would come next, the teaser trailer, or more info.. !!
And Now, we see EW have managed to get an EXCLUSIVE first look at the next movie with some new images, (Dont worry, non seem to be spoilers, or giving anything away)…
EW talk about the story of how the directors, Matt and Tyler wrote Neve Campbell a letter expressing why they wanted to do another film, and as we all know, it was because Wes had inspired them, and for good reason that touched good with Neve, as she loved Wes Craven!!
I have personally been avoiding many smaller items before now about the next film, but this article is harmless, we see some nice HQ pics and hopefully soon we’ll see the teaser trailer.

Pics and info below from EW.com
There are a few more pics on the original article…

Do you like scary movies?

Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are hoping to scare audiences with the fifth Scream movie, titled simply Scream, when Paramount and Spyglass Media Group release the film on Jan. 14, 2022. But in the spring of 2020, it was the pair who were biting their nails waiting to see if the franchise’s longtime stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette would jump aboard the first film in the franchise since 2011’s Scream 4 and the first not to be directed by the late Wes Craven. The absence of one or more of the characters portrayed by the actors (Campbell’s final girl Sidney Prescott, Cox’s journalist Gale Weathers, and Arquette’s lawman Dewey Riley) would certainly raise eyebrows among the slasher franchise’s devoted army of fans. Moreover, Sidney, Gale, and Dewey were all prominently featured in the script for the movie, about a new killer who puts on the Ghostface mask and begins targeting teenagers to resurrect secrets from Woodsboro’s corpse-filled past.

The Scream shoot took place last fall in Wilmington, N.C. Campbell, Cox, and Arquette were joined by Marley Shelton, who played Deputy Judy Hicks in Scream 4, as well as franchise newcomers Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sonia Ammar, Jack Quaid, and Melissa Barrera. The latter plays the character Sam Carpenter and admits she initially had a hard time keeping a handle on her emotions when it came to acting with the OG Scream-ers.

Scream will be released on Jan. 14, 2022.

May 18th 2020: Scream 5 gets Dewey back…

Well, after the last post i didnt know how long it would be before i would be back again, especially with another Update about Scream 5 !!!
But it seems like now is the time that talks are getting underway slowly, Neve has recently been in contact with the film makers, and now it seems that David Arquette has joined that same club, with confirming his return as Dewey in SCREAM 5…
Bloody Disgusting.com and many other sites were updating us all yesterday with this news, which surely does please fans..

Info below from Bloody-Disgusting….

David Arquette, who has expressed interest in reprising the role of Dewey Riley several times in recent years, has been officially confirmed to star in the upcoming relaunch of Scream, it was announced today by Peter Oillataguerre, President of Production for Spyglass Media Group, LLC!

Arquette of course played Dewey in all four of Wes Craven’s Scream films, and this huge announcement 100% confirms that the new movie will be taking place in the same world.

Plot details are under wraps but the film will be an original story co-written by James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery, Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not, “Castle Rock,”) with Project X Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Sherak producing for Spyglass.

Creator Kevin Williamson will serve as executive producer. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of the filmmaking group Radio Silence (Ready or Not, V/H/S) will direct and the third member of the Radio Silence trio, Chad Villella, will executive produce alongside Williamson.

Principal photography will begin later this year in Wilmington, North Carolina when safety protocols are in place.

Arquette said, “I am thrilled to be playing Dewey again and to reunite with my ‘Scream’ family, old and new. ‘Scream’ has been such a big part of my life, and for both the fans and myself, I look forward to honoring Wes Craven’s legacy.”
