Whats a good program for editing?

Postby SickBoy » Fri Nov 21, 2008 2:41 am

Me and a group of friends are planning on making a scream fan film in the near future and I was wondering whats a good program for editing? I've used windows movie maker in the past and I really would like to use something better lol. Granted it'll be awhile before we actually start filming, but I'd like to get the software first and play around with it just so I can get the hang of it. Any suggestions?

Its ok for basic videos, but for good results you need Premiere pro,or if using a Mac you need "Final Cut Pro"
All my films are made in movie maker 2,but theres alot of limits if you need advanced stuff.. but if you just want basic stuff then movie maker should be fine.. and as SXE says, its easy to use..

I'll have to look into Adobe premiere , a few other people mentioned it too, I've used movie maker before for editing fan vids and tributes, I'm thinking I'll just stick with that for my movie. Thanks guys. Has anyone ever used Adobe Aftereffects for post production? How difficult is that to get the hang of and are te results worth it? I'm noob when it comes to all this stuff!

I don't do a lot of vdeo editing but there's a program called VLC that I enjoy using. You can do lots of different things with it. It works for me. Might not hurt if you want to look into it.
