I couldn't decide between the first and New Nightmare but seeing how I love Freddy's appearance and attitude in that one I chose that, Dream Warriors is also a favourite, I found Freddy's Revenge to be good it's highly underrated, IMO it's far better than 4,5+6, 4 was okay but highly cheesy and ridiculous in places, 5 was better it was darker and had creative death scenes but had some plot holes and 6 was just god awful, I didn't like the way they dealt with Freddy and he became a total clown in that. Luckily Wes returned and sorted it all out but had to take it out of continuity of the series in order to do that.

Yeah Freddy's Dead is really weak, the only part I actually like is the opening scene and the head exploding death that was quite funny other than it was laughably bad.

in the box set you get the ending in 3D
it was like that when it came out in theaters too
the only way to see the ending of it in 3D is to get the box set

Oh you gotta see the original, the original explains everything. The first is the best in my opinion and thats what i voted for.

I too am a big fan of this series. As a kid it was this series that kept me awake all night. So I enjoy passing it along to the next generation.

Love the series. the second is my favorite, a main character you can get behind and care that they live or die is a rarity in horror with most being throwaway stereotypes, which is probably the same reason i love the scream series. I mean who isn't rooting for Sidney every time? :Oo .............and the dogs with the human faces (*shutters*)
