Problems with Scream 3

Postby ScreamKing » Mon Mar 23, 2009 4:04 am

After watching it the other day, I immediately found so many problems about this movie. There are a couple confusing points in this movie.

- During the chase scene on the set of Stab 3, Sidney tosses the killer down onto the first floor. He lands on her bed, you see him take off. How the hell did the killer appear in the mother's room a whole two seconds later? And is Sidney actually hearing her mother speak in that scene? The whole "Mother will protect you from the boogyman". Is that in her head or is the killer saying that under the bloody sheet? Don't you think Sidney would run if she heard it coming from under the sheet?
- When Sidney gets into that secret room, how the hell is the killer already there? And the room is set up with the film Roman wanted Sidney to see. How did he know she was going there?

Basically, there really had to be a couple killers in this movie for it to make sense.
Gale: Jesus, the camera! Hurry!
Kenny: My name isn't Jesus.

You ask some good questions, so ill try and answer them, as we all know there was meant to be 2 killers so possibly that could be the reason for all questions, but with the killer being pushed down to Sidney's bed i could see that with it being Roman he would know the set inside out, so maybe he knew a quick way or maybe just a plot hole where Angelina's killer role came in, also im sure that the killer is talking under the sheet in his new complex voice changer. I think Sid only stayed around longer to see who and how it was her mothers voice.. As for the secret Screening room, i think Romans plan "May" have been to chase her there and he hoped she would run that wa, then again it could have been a lucky coincidence, but it was quick and well timed for Maureen's film to be shown i agree.. but that's films for you, i just wish life could be well timed sometimes too.

And also, the whole scene at Jennifer's house. It just seemed like too much of an elaborate plan for only one person to do (Fax them, and kill).

The whole trilogy is full of those kind of plot wholes..... how do the killers constantly know what Sidney and gale and Dewey are gonna be doing.... like how did Mrs Loomis know gale and Dewey would be watching tapes precisely in that room and would be using that specific VCR instead of the other one.... etc etc etc you could go on forever, IMO it's the magic of movies that you just shouldn't be asking questions.... why would you kill a whole Lotta people just because your mother left you in the first place.. see? ask no questions, just assume this is all a great movie

Good point there, i always think about that everytime i watch that scene. how did he know he was going into the room to get the lighter when Jennifer had a torch. how did the killer know?

Just another reason to prove that Roman couldn't be the only one.

It's plot holes like this that advance the stories. I'm not saying that's the case all the time but it usually is a good way to do it.

And also a major problem for me... Dewey works on set of Stab 3? Where they are basically making fun of all the murders, and not taking his sister's death and everyone else's seriously? They could have thought of a better way to throw Dewey in there.

It was definitely bad taste for Dewey's character to be doing that. In fact it was out of character.

The kill in the house by faxing them was was just the worst. I cringe every time I watch it.
