Yeah I thought the same when I saw Todd's name and remembered Jason X was in his credits but considering it was the 9th sequel in a horror franchise it was a fun film and so was My Bloody Valentine, my main concern is them making this a fun horror film especially as Rob films weren't.

I feel with these two involved, it will definitely go in a better direction (not that they're amazing) but Rob Zombie's take on these films was utter trash.
Gale: Jesus, the camera! Hurry!
Kenny: My name isn't Jesus.

I liked the first (2 has yet to come out in the UK) but fair enough it's perfectly understandable why many hated them. There was a bit of an 80's Halloween feel to certain scenes in the MBV remake so I do agree it will probably go in a better direction, I just hope they don't bring in any real supernatural cult stuff like Thorn... some supernatural stuff is cool like in the original film but they will have to up the 'serious-ness' factor in their writing.

Another update... The Weinsteins have put this on hold for a while, they said they rushed into it.

Yeah, the last time they did that they spawned Halloween 5 and I think they remember how well that went down, though at that point the Weinsteins didn't have the rights for the film but I'm sure they'll follow it's example.

I really enjoyed zombies re-imaging of halloween but RZH2 was a train-wreck to me especially with the OMGZ [spoiler]Laurie's in the nut house![spoiler] etc.

Didnt like it with the original Halloween series, don't like it now.

I'm yet to see any film in 3D. This may be the one I do choose to see but who knows. It's early yet.
