Oh I've been meaning to review this. ABSOLUTE SHIT! Lol I hated everything about it. I really hope you guys agree with me. The original is literally 100 times better than this piece of junk.

How could you love it!? It was shit! Lol big mistake having someone die in the first few minutes because it got dull right after. All the characters were flat as hell (none of them were well developed).
Spoiler: show
How could noooone of them remember what happened when they were five years old? I feel like you would remember if you were molested. They made it seem like 5 year olds have the mental set of a 2 year old.
And the scares were too forceful. Also, the scene where Tina layed back down and Freddy was there, direct copy of Drag Me To Hell, lol. Like direct. Notice how all the scares in these new wave of horror movies are just CAMERA CUT, BOOM, loud noise. See in the Scream movies, the jumps were clever. Ie. Sidney running in the house, locking the door -- you have a shot behind her -- the closet for seconds and then BAM the killer comes out. Or Cici in Scream 2 when she answers the phone, and the closet behind her just looks part of the background then BAM.

I'm going overboard on this, lol, but it really wasn't scary in the least bit. And again, like stated earlier, the characters were shit! Did we really feel bad when Tina's bf died? No. Did we feel bad when Tatum died in Scream. Yes. Characters is my number one thing when writing screenplays. If you don't care about the characters, then who the fuck cares?

ALSO, this was literally a direct copy of the original, just a shitty version of it. I mean so many things were directly copied. Like I know who was going to die, when they were going to die, and how it was going to end. At least with the Friday the 13th reboot, they went with something different and somewhat unpredictable.
Spoiler: show
When Freddy came out of the nightmare in this one into the real world, what happened after was completely a wasted opportunity. They brawl for a minute and he's dead... In the original, when Freddy comes into the real world, it was tense and awesome to watch.
Basically, I just want you CJ to realize that this wasn't very good, lol.

Personally I thought it was ok... Jackie Earle Haley was the best thing about it, at least Freddy was scary again IMO

I haven't seen it yet. I've heard a lot of different opinions on this one. So to be fair I can't say anything about it until I see it. However from the previews I just wasn't in a big rush to go see it. So for me it will probably be a rental when I finally do see it.

I loved this film! I was a bit worried about it when I first heard it was being remade, because lets face it, who can be better than Robert Englund as Freddy? But my friends talked me into going to watch it, and I'm so glad I did. I figured it had to be good as the people I went with had all seen it already, but wanted to go again. I still love the old one, but I liked the actors and storyline in the new one. Jackie Earle Haley was great, but I still preferred Robert Englund.
