Accused of murdering sids mother at first, Cotton spent over a year in prison for a murder he didnt commit! All Cotton wants is to tell the world his side of the story to get it straight so everyone knows the truth.

He described it as the easiest money he's made for 6 seconds.

I misread this for a second and thought you meant Cotton the character, implying that Maureen Prescott had to pay him - and only for six seconds of work.

Not much to say about Cotton here, as it was such a short cameo, but I love the continuity of bringing him back for the sequels despite how short of an appearance he made in the original film.

Ah, that really is a shame then.

Especially with Sidney's shortened role in the film, Cotton would have made for a great main character along with the rest of them. I was a bit disappointed as soon as it started and I realized he was going to be the opening kill, just kind of a waste of a good character in my opinion..
